F.O.O.D short for (Forged Out Of Dust) From Deception Bay Queensland Australia 4508

The band formed in August 2010, since then have had 2 changes in Bass musicians now since July and again in December of 2011. The Line up now, includes myself, David Peacock, Lead singer/Song writer/ Lead/Rhythm Guitarist,(original member) John Barty, (original member) Versatile/Improvise/Rhythm Guitarist, Rod Ash, Singer/Song writer/ Guitarist/2nd Small Percussionist,(original member), Darryl Humpries, Kit Drummer percussionist,(original Member) Alan Anderson, Conga Player/Harmonica/Backing vocals, (Original Member) Roy Pamplin on Bass Guitar,(New member since December 2011). All members including myself, have at least 5 to 30 years experience on our particular instruments and singing. Our ages are from 64 to 42 years. F.O.O.D is pretty much a multicultural band.

 F.O.O.D is known as a Fusion genre Band. Fusion Genre means, our  songs an instrumentals never stay to the same genre, or style of music and in both songs and instrumentals, various genre's over lap with in most of the songs we play. Example Acid-Jazz with Latin-Samba-Rock, as the solo part of song. In all you could say, we are cross between; Acid Jazz/ Latin /Hard-Rock/Psychedelic-Rock/Ska/Ballads/Blue's-Fusion. (some famous band influances are from Chicago,Santana, Traffic,Johnny Lee Hooker, Canned Heat, Pink Floyed, Blood Sweat & Tears and Herbie Hancock.)

We do original songs  and most of them are about our life experience and the awareness of life its self, with a positive and at times challenging message. That the struggle in life is not only what we see in this world, but what is not seen and happening in the spiritual world. That it is not just a mentally physical struggle in this world but in the spiritual world there is a struggle with principalities & powers of light and darkness fighting over our souls. In the songs we have, the message is not to deep for one not to understand what we are on about. Most of the songs are on the surface of what we see in ourselves and vanity of life of how we live or how we survive and to be happy with what you got which are also 2 songs of mine ( Born To Survive And be happy with what you got) other songs we sing about is to do with forgiving one another, patients, love, money, the effects of drugs, and future Each song we have has slight changes and variations, to make the song and melody more interesting with a dramatic emotional feel, some times a soul up lifting feel good experience that some listeners feel they got something out of it an not just a temporal quick fix Lets say FOOD for thought?

We prefer to do festivals mainly in the future and record and produce our own CD's. We hope  to get more festival/gigs as they come in the future.

Gig's past and present.

First gig was December 2010. Christmas Break up do, private party break up Q.L.D. 2nd gig was February 25th 2011, in Nimbin Northern N.S.W at the old St Stevens Anglican building. 3rd gig Muller College, Fate/Festival Rothwell Q.L.D in May 2011.
